Adrienne Cortez completed this study with a grant from the New York State Council on the Arts through their Architecture, Planning, and Design Program. The New York Architectural League provided sponsorship.
Ms. Cortez is a registered landscape architect whose work explores themes of urban sustainability and the use of existing infrastructure as a framework for deploying green technologies.
nyc: uncapped offers the opportunity to empower citizens with the knowledge of their individual impact on a larger system and illustrates how urban challenges can lead to improvements in the urban ecology that enhance the vitality of public space.
Adrienne’s current work includes the master plan and sustainable development guidelines for a mixed-use project in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, as well as design research and consulting on a brownfield redevelopment in Dallas, Texas. Previous work includes a range of projects from private residences to post-industrial sites.
Ms. Cortez received her Master of Landscape Architecture degree from the University of Virginia. She has also studied in Venice, Italy and was a Fellow of the American Landscape Academy in France. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas.
